ARINC 404

For those customers that require filtered ARINC 404 series rack and panel connectors FilConn is the premier industry choice for these products. FilConn can provide its filtering and transient protection technology in any shell size (A404-1, -2, -3, -4) and any insert arrangement. The protection technology can even be provided for inserts with coax, triax or quadrax contacts if the application requires.

Customers may choose from our standard termination options of PC tail, solder cup or crimp configurations depending on the application. If required, front release contacts can be provided as well as interfacial seals for added environmental sealing.

In addition to our standard options, for customers that have unique or custom mounting requirements FilConn can design custom back shells that incorporate unique geometries or mounting holes as required. For weight sensitive customers, these backshells can be machined from composite material and plated to provide the necessary conductivity.

The design shown in the photos below is of a filtered A404-2 shell with the following parameters:

  Gang A is fully filtered with 10nF of capacitance in a pi filter configuration.

  Gang B is a mixed insert arrangement with front removable triax contacts and #22 socket contacts.

  All contacts in both A and B gang are front release (including the triax contacts) with an interfacial seal installed.

  The connector was provided with a custom back shell that provided mounting locations for the customers circuit card assembly.
